Abyssocottus korotneffi is a deepwater sculpin.[1] It was described by Lev Berg in 1906.[2] It is a non-migratory, freshwater fish which is endemic to Lake Baikal, in Russia. It is known to dwell at a depth range of 120-1000 metres, most commonly between 450-500 m. Males can reach a maximum total length of 12.6 centimetres, while females can reach a maximum TL of 13.2 cm. It can live up to 12 years. Females harbour about 20 eggs in each ovary; the eggs can measure up to 4.25 mm in diameter.[1]
A. korotneffi feeds predominantly on debris and gammarids.[3]
