AccuRadio is an independent, multichannel Internet radio property founded in 2000.[1] It reaches nearly a million listeners per month.[2]

Background

AccuRadio is based in Chicago. Their founder/CEO is Kurt Hanson who publishes RAIN: Radio and Internet Newsletter.[3] Their executive vice president/sales is Michael Damsky.[4] Their COO is John Gehron.[5] The company also works with former broadcast radio personalities like Tommy Edwards,[6] Barbara Prieto[7] and Steve Cochran.[8]

Web streaming

Based on monthly reports from Triton Digital's Webcast Metrics service, AccuRadio is usually about the tenth most listened to web streaming service, although that varies from month to month, among all U.S. broadcast groups that stream online (based on average quarter-hour (AQH) and cumulative audience (cume) totals for AccuRadio as gathered by Webcast Metrics).[9] The service offers apps for iOS,[10] Android, Roku,[11] and webOS.[12] In January 2013, AccuRadio partnered with Aha by HARMAN to makes its content available via Aha apps in an Aha-supported automobile dashboards.[13]

Awards

The AccuTunes interface built by AccuRadio won People's Voice award for Best Radio in the 2008 Webby Awards.[14]
