Acer pictum subsp. mono, commonly known as painted maple or mono maple in English,[1] itayakaede (板屋楓) or ezoitaya (蝦夷板屋) in Japan,[1] 五角枫 (wu jiao feng) in China,[2] or gorosae (고로쇠) in Korea,[3] is a species of maple.
Description
Acer pictum subsp. mono grows 15-20m tall and a trunk that is 60–100 cm wide.[1] Its leaves have 5-7 lobes.[1][2]

Distribution
The tree is native to Japan, Korea, China, Mongolia, and the Russian Far East.[2][4]
