Club career
Akyol started his youth career at CJVV in Amersfoort. He was quickly spotted by the neighbouring Roda '46 side from Leusden. Notable for his fast dribbles and powerful long-range shots, Almere City FC scouts signed him in 2010. He is yet to play his first competition match.
