Advanced Production and Loading
Advanced Production Loading (APL) is a specialist Norwegian engineering company supplying loading and transfer systems for offshore platforms and ships. The company's headquarter offices are in Arendal, Norway. APL has close to 200 staff in 2009. APL has subsidiary offices in Paris, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Shanghai and Aberdeen.
The first STL system was installed in the Fulmar field in the North Sea in 1993.[1]
National Oilwell Varco signed a definitive agreement in September 2010, subject to final approval by its board of directors and other conditions to closing, to acquire the Advanced Production and Loading PLC (APL), subsidiary of BW Offshore for $500 million in cash. [2]
