Agapit

Agapit (Russian: Агапи́т) is an old and rare[1] Russian Christian male first name.[2] The name is derived from the Greek word agapētos, meaning loved one.[2][1]

Its colloquial variant is Agap (Ага́п; which can also be the main form of a related name).[1]

The diminutives of "Agapit" are Aga (А́га),[2] Agapitka (Агапи́тка), Agapka (Ага́пка), Gapa (Га́па), and Gasha (Га́ша).[1]

The patronymics derived from "Agapit" are "Агапи́тович" (Agapitovich; masculine) and "Агапи́товна" (Agapitovna; feminine).[1]
