Ageneiosus inermis is a species of driftwood catfish of the family Auchenipteridae. It can be found on Uruguay.[1] It is known as the Manduba locally and the Guyana Slope-Headed Catfish in the aquarium trade. The fish reaches a length of 45cm and is a carnivore, feeding on smaller fishes and invertebrates. During the breeding season, the male uses his modified anal fin to fertilize the females eggs internally. The female then deposits the eggs a few days later amongst vegetation.
