Agrodiaetus is a classic genus of butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. The members (species) are found in the Palearctic ecozone. It has recently been considered by some authors as a subgenus of Polyommatus. With 134 pairs of chromosomes this insect has one of the highest chromosome numbers among all multicellular animals.[1]
