Ahmed Abou Hashima is the CEO of Egyptian Steel group, and the managing director of FE Steel.[1][2]

Personal and family life

Hashima graduated from the Faculty of Commerce-Suez Canal University, Egypt. He was previously married to Lebanese entertainer Haifa Wehbe.[3] The couple, married in 2009, were divorced in 2012.[4]

Career

Hashima started out as a steel trader in the 1990s.[5] He eventually entered the field of steel production and steel import/export.[2] Currently, Hashima is a board-member with First Equity Partners.[6]

Hashima is a supporter of economic opportunities for Egypt, including an outreach for tourism[7] He was among the first to donate to the account 306306, which was created by businessmen to support the Egyptian economy after the 2013 Egyptian coup d'état.[8]

Charitable work

Hashima was chosen by the Egyptian Achievements Organization, as one of the most influential Egyptians in the field of CSR in December 2013.[9] He has taken part in a charity project called “Nahr El Kheir” which supplied 1,500 Egyptian homes in rural areas with clean tap water and sanitation;[10] and in the past has sponsored the Egyptian Football Paralympics team.[11]
