Air Arabia Jordan is a low-cost carrier based in Jordan.[1] The airline is a joint venture between the RUM Group in Jordan and Air Arabia and will be the first low cost airline based in Jordan.
History
In January 2015 Air Arabia announced the acquisition of a 49% stake in Jordanian operator Petra Airlines. The principal shareholder of Petra Airlines, the RUM Group, retain a 51% stake in the airline, which will be rebranded as Air Arabia Jordan in early 2015. It will initially operate 2 Airbus A320 aircraft and there are plans to develop a new hub in Amman.[2]

Fleet
The Airbus A320 (as operated by Air Arabia) will anchor the airline's fleet.[4] Air Arabia Jordan and Air Arabia have not confirmed how many aircraft will be leased or when the leasing will commence. As of July 2015, Air Arabia Jordan operates 2 Airbus A320, JY-PTC and JY-PTD. These 2 aircraft were previously owned by Petra Airlines, but were transferred to Air Arabia Jordan after the Sharjah-UAE based airline acquired 49% of the Jordanian airline.
