Airi Suzuki (鈴木 æ„›ç† Suzuki Airi, born April 12, 1994 in Gifu, Japan) is a Japanese pop singer and currently member of such idol groups as Cute and Buono!, among others.
Biography
Personal life
Her parents, Toru and Kyoko Suzuki[1] were both professional golfers.
Career
In 2002, Suzuki participated and passed, along with 14 other girls, the audition of Hello! Project Kids after performing Kimochi wa Tsutawaru by BoA. She made her first appearance in the entertainment industry as a member of 4Kids, a temporary group that appeared in Minimoni's movie Mini Moni ja Movie: Okashi na DaibÅken!, which was released in late 2002. In addition, she was also in a shuffle group called Aa! later that year and received a lead in the song.
She was assigned as a member of Cute, whose formation was announced on June 11, 2005, along with seven other Hello! Project Kids members, and she is the lead singer in most songs and concerts. Furthermore, it was announced on July 21, 2007 that Suzuki would participate in a unit named Buono! with Momoko Tsugunaga and Miyabi Natsuyaki from Berryz Kobo. In 2010 Suzuki had once injured her ankle before a concert.[2]
At the end of October, 2010, Airi Suzuki appeared on the cover of the December issue of UP to boy magazine together with Mayu Watanabe from AKB48. That was the first gravure collaboration between AKB48 and Hello! Project.[3]
