Aistė Diržiūtė is a Lithuanian actress best known for her role of Austė in The Summer of Sangaile (Lithuanian: Sangailė or Sangailės Vasara).
Biography
Early life and career beginnings
Diržiūtė was born in Vilkaviškis.
At the age of 7 in 1998 she started learning in Vilkaviškis music school in piano class. She graduated in 2005.[1] In 2010 Diržiūtė moved to Vilnius where she studied in Vilnius college of higher education for a year and then entered Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.[1] During her studies, Diržiūtė appeared in several commercials and got small roles in TV series.
2015-present: Breakthrough

In 2015 Diržiūtė made her film debut. She co-starred in Robert Mullan's movie based on real events, We Will Sing, and was casted as one of the lead roles in Alantė Kavaitė's The Summer of Sangaile.
After The Summer of Sangaile premiered in Berlin International Film Festival, Diržiūtė was noticed by film critics and became the first Lithuanian actress to be ever named one of the Europeans Shootings Starts, alongside other actors, including Maisie Williams and Moe Dunford. [3] In homeland, Diržiūtė also won award for Best Lithuanian Actress in Vilnius International Film Festival[4] and was nominated in Sidabrinė gervė[5] and KINFO[6] awards.
After her success, actress became a face of “Body Talk” collection in May 2015.[7]
In 2016, Diržiūtė starred in "Kings' Shift" directed by Ignas Miškinis and short film "Back" directed by Gabrielė Urbonaitė. Both films premiered in Vilnius International Film Festival.[8][9] Diržiūtė is making her debut in Russian film industry as Marina Malich in biographical drama "Kharms", directed by Ivan Bolotnikov.
