Akkulam (Malayalam: ആക്കുളം) is a neighborhood of Thiruvananthapuram city, the capital of Kerala state in India. It is about 10 km from Thiruvananthapuram city center. It is a well known for the picnic and backwater destination Akkulam Lake, an extension of Veli Lake, where it joins with the sea. The Southern Air Command of Indian Air force is located at Aakkulam.
