Al-Jamil Private School, Salmya
Al-Jamil Private School, Salmya was created in 1960 by a partnership including its first principal, Khawla Rizk, a Lebanese woman who was residing in Kuwait at the time. Al-Jamil started out as a private school in a hanger belonging to the Caterpillar, Inc. dealership in Surra, now a suburb of Kuwait City.
Curricula
It was coeducational from K to 4th grade, and had male-only students in grades 5 to 12. Its curricula and administration gradually came under the full control of Kuwait's Ministry of Education.
Facility
The school was housed at a custom-built facility in Surra around 1970, and remained there until the Gulf War of 1991.
Alumni
Groups of Al-Jamil Alumni had formed over the years.
