Al-Namas (Arabic: النماص) is a town in 'Asir Province,[2] Saudi Arabia about 130 kilometres (81 mi) north of Abha.[3]
Climate

Al-Namas is slightly wetter than Abha, with about 10–30 mm (0.39–1.18 in) higher average monthly rainfall during February to April and about 5–15 mm (0.20–0.59 in) lower monthly rainfall during September and October.[3]
Education
Al-Namas King Khalid University has a Community College and College of Arts and Sciences for male students[4] and a College of Health Sciences for Girls and College Arts & Sciencesfor female students[5] in al-Namas. It also has Technical College for diploma students. Recently, a technical college has opened its doors in Al-Namas where the Saudi students of the Asir region are offered a vocational education.
Politics
After student protests over conditions at the Abha campus of King Khalid University on 6 and 7 March 2012[6] and a follow-up sit-in on 10 March calling for the head of the university to resign,[7] protests also occurred in the al-Namas campus of the university.[8]
