Al-Qa'im (person)
For other uses of the word Qāʾim, see Qa'im.
Al-Qāʾim (Arabic: القائم "He Who Arises") is a messiah-like figure in Shia Islam, sometimes referred to as the Mahdi, but distinctly of a Shiʿa tradition. The Bahá'í Faith consider the Báb (1819-1850) to have been the Qāʾim.
