Al-Rifai
Al Rifai or Al Refai (Arabic: قضاء Ø§Ù„Ø±ÙØ§Ø¹ÙŠâ€Ž) is a district in Dhi Qar Governorate (Ù…ØØ§Ùظة ذي قار), southern Iraq. It has a population of 450,000 people. It includes the administrative center of Al-Rifai city and the towns of Al Nasir (ناØÙŠØ© النصر), Al Fajir (ناØÙŠØ© Ø§Ù„ÙØ¬Ø±) and Qalat Sukkar (ناØÙŠØ© قلعة سكر). It is located 90 km to the north of Nasiriyah (the centre of Dhi Qar Governorate) and 300 km to the south of Baghdad.
The city is divided by Al-Gharraf River into east and west sides, connected by bridges. The most important establishments in Al Rifai are the Al Rifai General Hospital (مستشÙÙ‰ Ø§Ù„Ø±ÙØ§Ø¹ÙŠ Ø§Ù„Ø¹Ø§Ù…), Sumer University College (جامعة سومر) and the Grain Silo ( سايلو ØØ¨ÙˆØ¨ Ø§Ù„Ø±ÙØ§Ø¹ÙŠ).
