Sūrat al-Wāqiʻah (Arabic: سورة الواقعة‎; "The Inevitable"^[1] or "The Event") is the 56th surah (chapter) of the Quran. It was revealed in Mecca (see Meccan surah). The total number of verses in this surah are 96.
