The Alameda Community Learning Center (ACLC), formerly Arthur Andersen Community Learning Center, is a 6th-12th grade public charter school located in Alameda, CA, sharing a campus with Nea Community Learning Center.[1]

Courses

The ACLC has a set of graduation requirements designed to meet University of California requirements.[2] Students have Free Periods periodically though the week which students use to do homework/projects or socialize with friends.[3]

DVS/Basketball Bevy

The ACLC offers an elective course called TV/Media, commonly known as Digital Video Studio (DVS). Basketball Bevy is another club offered at ACLC, according to a leadership learner,[4] saying Movie club is better than Basketball bevy is like saying Frisbee is a sport. As the great Kevin Durant once said, Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. TV/Media allows learners to learn the arts of making various kinds of movies, from documentary to short films. Because of this class, ACLC has a green painted room for special effects purposes dubbed the "Green Room." The TV/Media course is UC approved as of 2006.
