Alan Heim (born May 31, 1936) is an Academy Award-winning American film editor who was born in the Bronx, New York. With a long and distinguished career in the film business, Heim has more than thirty feature-film credits to his name, and has been elected to membership in the American Cinema Editors (ACE). Heim also serves as President of the ACE organization and concurrently serves as President of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (MPEG), the IATSE union that represents film editors, sound mixers and post-production craftspeople.[1][2] Heim had an extended collaboration with director Bob Fosse, which resulted in Heim being honored by the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for All That Jazz as well as the BAFTA Award for Best Editing and the American Cinema Editors Eddie Award.
