Alan Quarry

Alan Quarry (born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian Marketing communications executive and the CEO of Quarry Integrated Communications. In 2009, he was named Entrepreneur in Residence at Wilfrid Laurier University.[1][2]


Career

In 1988, Quarry became majority shareholder and president of Quarry Advertising (later renamed Quarry Integrated Communications), an advertising agency started by his father, Robert.[3] In 2007, he shifted roles to become Chairman and “Chief Enthusiasm Officer” of the organization.

Quarry obtained his BA in English and History from the University of Western Ontario. He was the Manager, Corporate Communications of Canada Trust (now TD Canada Trust) before joining Quarry Advertising in 1983.

Educational and community involvement

Quarry has taught undergraduate and master’s-level business students at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also an instructor in the Executive MBA program at the University of Windsor.

Quarry has been a long-time member of the marketing and communications board of the charitable organization The Kitchener and Waterloo Community foundation. He has also served as a member of the communications committee of the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee, Laurier School of Business and Economics.
