Verrinder made his first-class debut for Surrey against Middlesex in the 1974 County Championship. He made 2 further first-class appearances for Surrey, against Cambridge University and Leicestershire, both in 1976.[1] He took 4 wickets in these 3 matches, which came at an average of 26.25, with best figures of 2/42.[2] He made his List A debut for Surrey against Glamorgan in the 1974 John Player League.
