Alasdair MacLean

Alasdair MacLean (born 2 June 1974[1]) is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of the British musical group The Clientele. They are signed to Merge Records.

Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, MacLean graduated with a First-class honours degree in Literature from Edinburgh University before forming the band. He currently lives in London. MacLean is also a fine art painter.

The Clientele announced an indefinite hiatus on their website in July 2011. In the interim, MacLean has been playing, singing and writing in Amor De Dias, whose debut album Street of the Love of Days was released through Merge Records in the United States on 17 May 2011. A second album was announced on the band's website in March 2012, and The House at Sea was released in January 2013.
