Albert de Belleroche

Albert de Belleroche (1864 - 1944), was a Welsh painter and lithographer. ^[1] He was born in Swansea, but raised in Paris by his mother, Alice (originally from Brussels), and his stepfather, Harry Vane Millban (his father, Edward Charles, the Marquis de Belleroche, having died whilst he was in infancy). In the 1930’s he presented the 'National Museum of Wales' with a small collection of his works, he also presented collections to the 'Bibliothèque Nationale', Paris, the 'Bibliothèque Royale', Brussels, and the 'British Museum' in London. ^[2] In 1915 he devised a method of detecting forged watermarks.

He died in July 1944 in Rustington, Sussex.
