Aleika Castle

Aleika Castle (Arabic: قلعة العليقة) is located near Tartous at distance 85 km, it consists of two floor structures, like a castle within another. Historically (12-th century) it was under Syrian Nizari Ismaeli control, and had part during the crusades. Cemetery stones are found there with latin inscriptions, which confirms that fights took place here during crusades. The king Zaher Bibros is mentioned in the archives of the Syrian Tourism ministry.
