Alessandro De Marco (born 28 September 1979) is an Italian actor and producer currently based in London. He is the founder of the production company Aldemar Productions

Early life

Alessandro grew up in a rural village in his native Italy. After posing for a headshot photographer and winning a national competition, he began finding work as a model in Milan. Creatively unsatisfied with the limitations of modeling, and setting his sights on the international market, he began to pursue acting.

At 23 he moved abroad to Britain to study, after winning a scholarship.[1] He arrived in Loughborough, and found his English was insufficient even to take acting classes. Instead he supported himself working menial jobs for a year, first in a factory and then as a computer programmer.

His skills in IT were sufficient to secure a job in London, and he moved there at 26. While working he completed a one-year “Introduction to Acting” at City Lit. He followed this with a course in screen acting at the Met Film School.

Acting career

Graduating in 2007, Alessandro began his career in student films in order to gain experience and build contacts. He traveled to LA to explore film acting opportunities, but his career was derailed briefly on the death of his Father, which required him to immediately return to Italy.

After coming to the attention of an agent, Alessandro appeared in the digital art project Nativity.[2] The work was directed by Martha Fiennes, sister of actor Ralph Fiennes. Inspired by his time on the set, Alessandro began investing in equipment and penning his own projects, the first of which is in pre-production.

He then appeared in a series of short films, including In-Vitro (2011), 1Night (2012), The Boss (2012), A Distant Man (2012) and Wishful Thinking (2013).

Alessandro was then cast in upcoming feature film Rush,[3] a biopic of formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda. He plays the role of Daniele Audetto. This project saw Alessandro appearing alongside film stars Chris Hemsworth, Olivia Wilde, Daniel Brühl and Natalie Dormer.

Alessandro also appears in comedy film One Chance, directed by David Frankel, playing the role of Daniel.

He is currently filming The Secret of Botticelli, a murder mystery set in 1475 Florence. He is scheduled to appear in the sequel, The Botticelli Murders, which has a release date of 2015. In both films he plays the role of investigator Ilario Guglielmetti.
