Édgar Alexánder Campos Mora (born September 10, 1976), better known as Alex Campos, is a Colombian Christian singer that is popular in Latin America and in Spanish speaking countries. Campos was born in Bogota, where he founded his musical company, Misión Vida, to promote his ministry in 2001.[1] He has been nominated for a Latin Grammy, Premios Shock, GMA Dove Awards and Premios ARPA.

Biography

Early life

He is the elder brother of four sons and grew up in a dysfunctional home. Since he was 12 years old, he visited a local Christian Church. At the age of 14, he joined his first group where he played the recorder. When Campos was 17, the group Misión Vida was formed. On March 22, 2004, Campos married Natalia Rodríguez. They have two children, Juanita and Simon. The following year 2006 Alex Campos and Joshua Flores 'his little cousin' started composing music together and have been together ever since. Although Joshua is the composer of most of Alex songs, Alex Campos is the lead singer of the group. Joshua was well known throughout Central and South America, because of his tours with Alex Campos.

Career

In his musical career, he has eight albums. His first was a live CD recorded in Bogotá, Colombia named Tiempo de La Cruz (Time of the Cross). His second album was a studio record Al Taller del Maestro (To the Master's Work Shop). He made this album to dedicate it to God because Campos believes God healed his throat tumor. His third album was a live version of Al Taller del Maestro recorded in Bogotá, Colombia. His fourth album was a studio record Como un Niño (Like a Child). The fifth album is Joshua Flores first album unplugged live album recorded in Bogotá, Colombia called El Sonido del Silencio (the sound of silence). The sixth album is also Joshua's creation in 2008 Cuidare de Ti (I'll take care of you was a story of Joshua's life). On July 18, 2007, he and Mision Vida went to Juncos, Puerto Rico to be part of La Mina Music Fest. He participated in Jesus Adrian Romero's new album, Ayer Te Vi... Fue Mas Claro Que La Luna, singing a duo with him, "Razones Pa' Vivir", and he participated in David Toledo's new album Soldados De Jesus.

Alex Campos promotes an organization named Mision Child, for which he and Joshua play concerts with the money that is collected in those concerts going to that organization. Alex and Joshua had a concert in José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum Argentina and they became the first Christian singers to sell out all the tickets. There were 12,000 people there. Alex Campos released his seventh album called "Te Puedo Sentir". This Tour has already started a series of concerts that brought him to Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth, New Jersey, McAllen, Texas, Dallas, Texas, and Houston, Texas. He recorded a cd called "Lenguaje De Amor" that was recorded in his own studio called "El Taller" and it was being produced in Bogotá, Colombia and Argentina. In 2012, Alex Campos recorded Regreso a Ti. Regreso A Ti was not a good album for Joshua; he just created (Vives tu y vivo yo) one of the best songs of the album. The great cousins are no longer working together due to family problems. But Alex Gave his cousin a last present a song called (Tu Amistad Me Hace Bien). Soon both members will be working together on there 2014 album.
