Alexander Dreymon (born February 7, 1983) is a German born actor, best known for portraying Uhtred of Bebbanburg in BBC Two’s The Last Kingdom.[1]
Early life
Dreymon was born Alexander Doetsch[2] in Germany and grew up in France, Switzerland, Germany and the USA.[3]
He studied in Paris, then trained for three years at Drama Centre London.
Career
Dreymon appeared on stage in London and Paris before making his screen debut in the French one-off-drama Ni reprise, ni échangée, and later played alongside Doctor Who’s Matt Smith in the British movie Christopher and His Kind.[4] [3]
He then worked on several short-films features in the US as well as portraying Luke Ramsey in American Horror Story's season three, Coven.
He is currently portraying Uhtred of Bebbanburg in BBC Two’s The Last Kingdom.[4]
Private Life
He is fluent in English, French and German.
