Alfred Herbert "Alf" Amos (9 February 1893 – 27 October 1959) was an English professional footballer who played as a wing half in the Football League for Brentford and Millwall Athletic. He is a member of the Millwall Hall of Fame.[2]

Career

Alf started his career as an amateur with Kingstonian and then played for Brentford when they joined the Third Division South in 1920.[1] He appeared in 82 Football League matches for the Bees, scoring four goals and made 122 appearances in all competitions for the club.[1] Amos played in 9 of the 11 matches in 1926, when Millwall created a Football League record for the most consecutive matches without conceding a goal. He was equally at home in the right or left half position, stout in defence, a vigorous tackler and a man who supported his forwards well with his clever footwork and accurate passing.
