Alfonso Rodriguez was a Spanish Mariner and Merchant.[1]
Biography
Born in Galicia, Spain, son of Juan de Trovo Rodriguez and Inés de Vasanta.[2] he arrived port of Buenos Aires in the mid 17th century from Rio de Janeiro, was devoted to marine commercial and freight activities. In 1629 the Captain Rodriguez married, with Ana de la Trinidad Martínez,[3] daughter of Juan Gil Freytas (possible descendant of Mateo Gil and Francisco de Freytas).[4]
The wife of Alfonso Rodriguez, doña Ana Gil Freytas Martinez is the direct maternal ancestor of Mayor Miguel Jerónimo Esparza, and the brothers José, Manuel and Joaquín Canaveris.[5]
