Alfred Akirov (born 1941) is an Iraqi-born Israeli businessman. He is the founder of the Alrov Group.
Early life
Alfred Akirov was born in 1941 in Iraq.[1] He emigrated to Israel with his family in 1953.[1]
Career
He founded the Alrov Group in 1978.[1][2] It has been listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange since 1983.[1] He helped rebuild Mamilla.[1]
He served as the President of the French-Israeli Chamber of Commerce from 2010 to 2012.[1] He became a Knight of the French Legion of Honour in 2013.[1]
Philanthropy
He serves on the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University.[3]
