American recording artist Alicia Keys has released five studio albums, two live albums, one remix album, five box sets, 32 singles as lead artist, and two promotional singles. Keys released her first studio album Songs in A Minor (2001) through J Records, after having had previous recording deals with Columbia and Arista. The albums release was preceded by the release of Keys' debut single "Fallin'" (2001). The album spawned three other singles "A Woman's Worth" (2002), "How Come You Don't Call Me" (2002) and "Girlfriend" (2002). Songs in A Minor was a commercial success, selling over 12 million copies worldwide, making her the best-selling new artist and best-selling R&B artist of 2001.[1][2] Later, the album was reissued as Remixed & Unplugged in A Minor (2002), which included a disc of remixes and live songs.
Her second studio album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, was released in 2003, selling eight million copies worldwide.[3] The album garnered her an additional four Grammy Awards in 2005.[4] Later that year, she released her first live album, Unplugged, which debuted at number one in the United States.[5] She became the first female to have an MTV Unplugged album to debut at number one and the highest since Nirvana in 1994.[2] Her third studio album, As I Am, was released in 2007, and sold five million copies worldwide.[6] Keys' fourth and fifth studio albums, The Element of Freedom and Girl on Fire were released in 2009 and 2012, respectively. She released another live album, VH1 Storytellers, in 2013.
Throughout her career, Keys has sold over 18.4 million albums in the US, and over 30 million albums worldwide.[7][8][9]
