Alyssa Chia (born October 7, 1974) is a Taiwanese television hostess and actress. She is also known as "Queen of drama" and Niu-niu (妞妞).[1] She once studied in Beijing Film Academy. Her ancestral home is in Tianjin, China. Her ex-husband is Sun Zhihao and they have a daughter named Angelina. She is known for her roles in television series such as Da Han Tian Zi, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber and Lady Wu: The First Empress.[2][3]

Personal life

Studied in the Beijing Film Academy, Chia eventually dropped out due to her attachment to her family and an offer from a company in Taiwan. Then she entered the entertainment circle because of the scout and later advertised for The Taste Of Love, a food company. She also played a role as the hostess of children's programs and gradually became a well-known actress.[4] She married into purpul and it was a sensational news in 2005. At the same year, she gave a birth to a girl named Angelina and this little girl has a nickname Wutong Mei in June. In December, she married Sun Zhihao in America.[5] In 2009, rumors about the marriage spread. Chia held a press conference and acknowledged that the relationship between Sun broke up. In 2010, they divorced. Chia claimed that she just needed her daughter and not property. In August, 2010, the local court in Taipei made the decision that Chia and Sun had joint custody of their daughter, and she was to remain the main guardian. In September, 2010, the two made some concessions. The little girl could live with Chia for 20 days and live with Sun for 10 days for a month [6]

Career

Chia made her debut when she was 17 years old.[7] At the beginning, she often acted as the hostess of the Children's program such as Shenxian Zhitou and took part in the action of several television series such as Jia Jiafu, The Chicken and the Duck. But she was not intended to develop in the entertainment circle. So she went to Beijing Film Academy for education. Later her father failed in business and she tried her best to enter the entertainment circle to raise her family.[8] When she went back to Taiwan, her career did not sail with the wind until she acted in the television series Four Princesses. And it enhanced her popularity. Becoming the starring actress of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, made her reach the peak. When she played Feilong Zaitian, her status has already established as "Queen of Drama".[9] Soon she entered the Chinese mainland entertainment circle and shot many television series such as Da Han Tian Zi, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber and Lady Wu: The First Empress.[10]

In 2012, she posed for a PETA ad campaign, encouraging pet owners to have their dogs and cats spayed or neutered.[11]
