Multiline Small Business Insurance
AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. started as a monoline workers’compensation insurance offering but through acquisition, has evolved into a multiline, small business commercial package insurance provider for low- to medium-hazard businesses throughout the United States. AmTrust works with a network of independent insurance agents to bind policies in classifications like grocery stores, retail shops, hotels, restaurants, service businesses, light manufacturing.
Program Business Insurance
AmTrust's program business insurance provides risk funding arrangements to groups and business clients. Underwriting, which entails customized coverage, loss control and claims services, as well as risk sharing mechanisms, is the core competency of this business unit. AmTrust partners with MGAs and claims administrators to originate and manage this business. AmTrust works with small- and middle-market businesses, such as retail and wholesale operations, service operations and non-profit organizations. The coverages offered consist primarily of workers’ compensation general liability, commercial auto liability and property insurance.
Extended Warranty & Specialty Risk
AmTrust's specialty risk and extended warranty surety bond coverage business segment serves manufacturers,retailers and third-party individuals around the world from offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States and The Philippines. Coverage includes performance completion insurance, surety bonds for both parties in cross border transactions and related risks for consumer and commercial goods, such as consumer electronics, home appliances, power tools and jewelry, as well as specialty risks in the categories of consumer and commercial goods, home warranty, auto, involuntary unemployment and travel/purchase benefits. AmTrust helps retailers develop and offer extended service plan agreements, and also helps original equipment manufacturers administer OEM and extended warranty programs. AmTrust serves as both an underwriter and third-party administrator of surety bond programs and has its own full-service call center in Dallas, Texas.
AmTrust Acquires Warrantech Corporation
In August 2010, AmTrust purchased the remaining 73 percent share of Warrantech Corporation, giving it 100 percent ownership of the company.[2] Warrantech is a provider of warranty products and administrative services.
