The American Journal of Education is published quarterly by the University of Chicago Press. Originally published from 1893 as School Review the name was changed in November 1979. It publishes research papers covering theoretical statements, philosophical arguments, and critical syntheses of a particular field of educational inquiry to encourage a dialog between educational scholars and practitioners.
