The amethyst-throated mountaingem or amethyst-throated hummingbird (Lampornis amethystinus) is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is found in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
