Amrita Thapar born in Pune India was the former Miss India 2005.[1] She represented India at the Miss Universe pageant.

Thapar is a fashion designer, a stylist, a painter, a fashion writer and orator. She has been the spokesperson of Berlin and Maurtius tourism. She has been bestowed upon the honor by the Mauritian Prime Minister to be their Goodwill Ambassador for life. She was also an active founding member of the Commonwealth games in India. She was featured in Pankaj Udhas's album song "Jaaneman” and in music albums for Hariharan, Malkit Singh, Bhupinder and Mitali. She has served as Director and ambassador for her home venture called 'Cosmopolitan Institute of Style' based in Bangalore. She is a certified scuba diver.
