Amvrosy
Amvrosy (Russian: ÐмвроÌÑий) is a Russian Christian[1] male first name.[2] It is derived from Greek ambrosios, meaning (belonging to) immortal(s), god-like;[2] cf. ambrosia, food of gods.[3] Abrosim (ÐброÌÑим) is a colloquial variant of this first name.[2] Other variants include colloquial[2] and Old Church Slavonic[1] Ambrosy (ÐмброÌÑий); additional colloquial variants include Afrosim (ÐфроÌÑим),[3] Ofrosim (ОфроÌÑим),[3] Abrosy (ÐброÌÑий),[1] Avrosim (ÐвроÌÑим),[1] Obrosim (ОброÌÑим),[1] Ambros (ÐмброÌÑ),[1] Abros (ÐброÌÑ),[1] and Obros (ОброÌÑ).[1] The diminutives of "Amvrosy" include Abrosya (ÐброÌÑÑ),[1] Amvroska (ÐмвроÌÑ(ÑŒ)ка),[2] and Rosya (РоÌÑÑ).[2]
