Andrew McFarlane (motocross racer)

Andrew McFarlane (30 May 1977 – 2 May 2010) was an Australian motocross racer who died of injuries sustained on 2 May 2010 in an accident during a practice lap at the third round of the 2010 Australian Motocross Championship at Broadford held on State Motorcycle Sports Complex in Broadford, north of Melbourne, Australia.[1][2] He was 32. He was married and had one daughter.[3] This series would have been McFarlane's final season, as he had already announced his retirement from races earlier in 2010 to embark on a management role with JDR Motorex KTM.

Andrew McFarlane was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 30 May 1977.[4] He was runner up in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship in 2005 just behind the world champion Antonio Cairoli.[5] Andrew Mcfarlane was a great influence to the motosport and to many young riders.
