Andrew Shapiro (born September 5, 1975) is an American composer and songwriter. His work has been described as a blend of classical and popular music, "blending the minimalist influence of Philip Glass with the moody pop sensibility of '80s New Wave" (New Music Box magazine).

Shapiro was born in New York City and raised in Larchmont, New York. He studied musical composition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Oberlin, Ohio.

From 2004-2013 Shapiro regularly performed his solo piano compositions at a McDonald's fast-food restaurant in downtown Manhattan for which he was featured in a New York Times article titled "Quarter Pounder With Keys" and as the “Best Pianist in a Fast-Food Restaurant” in the Village Voice. Recent performances include appearances at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, Le Poisson Rouge and Gracie Mansion (New York City), TED Kraków and the Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia. His music has been heard on radio throughout North America and Europe including KCRW Radio, Los Angeles. He has also composed and licensed music for a wide variety of film, television and theater projects.
