He has also featured highly in the world's biggest DJ poll by DJ Magazine which is voted on by Dance music fans, gaining 50th in 2005, 30th 2 years consecutively in 2006 and 2007, 18th in 2008, 15th in 2009, 32nd in 2010 and 50th in 2011.

Andy Moor is known for mixing Progressive house music and trance and is one of the pioneers of various techniques, such as vocal chops, and a big bassline that was previously unheard of within trance.

He has also produced and remixed tracks for other artists, including Paul Oakenfold, Brian Eno, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Arthur Baker, among others.

History

Andy Moor was classically trained in multiple instruments from a young age.[1] Andy Moor broke onto the scene with his first track in 1999, after producing many of Baroque Records[2] early music. Andy has been DJing since he was 13 years old [3] and is known for his technical and musical mixing ability [4]

Podcast

Moor Music is the name of Andy Moor's Podcast and Radio Show, aired on Digitally Imported[5] and Sirius XM Radio[6] in North America every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Moor Music is known for its loyal 'cult' following and lack of talking over the music, giving listeners a one-hour-long mix every 2 weeks. The show, as with Andy's own musical style, takes on many different styles of Trance and Progressive music and is built as a reflection of what Andy's fans can expect to hear him play in his own sets.

Record Label

Andy Moor is the founder of AVA Recordings[7] and has been running the label since 2006.[8] The label releases a variety of Electronic Music styles and has signed artists such as Ashley Wallbridge,[9] tyDi, Joonas Hahmo, David West, Orkidea, Steve May, Damien Heck and, of course Andy Moor himself.

A quote from Andy Moor regarding AVA Recordings policy: "We will keep the same music policy, releasing quality melodic electronic dance music. We enjoy supporting new artists and working closely with them to develop and nurture their talent. 2009 will see the release of more artist albums, including my solo album, along with compilations and much more. We will be continuing on the path that has been created."

Agency

In 2009 Andy co-founded Jam DJ Management [10] and later joined the agency as an artist. Jam DJ Management look after his worldwide bookings outside of North America [11] whilst Circle Management handle his North American schedule [12]
