Anel Hadžić (born 16 August 1989) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Turkish club Eskişehirspor and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Hadžić spent most of his youth career at Ried, but debuting at senior level for Wels.[1]

After just five games for Wels, he returned to Ried, where he spent the next six seasons.[2]

In 2013, he signed for Sturm Graz.[3]

In January 2016, he was transferred to Turkish club Eskişehirspor for 300,000 €.[4]

International career

Despite representing Austria at youth level, Hadžić confirmed in July 2010 that he would opt to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.[5][6]

On 5 March 2014 he played his first match for the national team in a friendly match against Egypt at Tivoli-Neu in Innsbruck.[7]

Later that year he was selected for the 23-man squad to play at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.[8]
