Aníbal José Chávez Frías is the current mayor of Sabaneta, Barinas; the birthplace of his brother: President Hugo Chávez.[3][4][5]
Chávez was born in 1956 to Hugo de los Reyes Chávez and Elena Frías de Chávez, the youngest son (brothers Adán Chávez and Hugo Chávez).

Aníbal is the mayor of Sabaneta, a city in Venezuela's Barinas State. Sabaneta is the capital city of Alberto Arvelo Torrealba municipality in Barines. The city was founded by Juan de Alhama in 1787. The principal industry is sugar production.[6]
Family
Aníbal is a member of the Chávez political family. His father is Hugo de los Reyes Chávez (a former state governor). Two of his brothers are also politicians. These are; Adán Chávez, Governor of Barinas, and the late President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez.[7][8][9]
