Aniela Krzywoń
Aniela Krzywoń (born May 27, 1925 in Puźniki - died October 12, 1943 in Lenino) was a Polish soldier. She joined the Ludowe Wojsko Polskie in 1943; that year she saved important documents from the flames but died due to sustained injuries. For that she received the highest Polish military decoration, Virtuti Militari, and high Soviet decorations - Order of Lenin and the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union. She was the first and only Polish female decorated with the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
