Anil K. Jain

Anil K. Jain may refer to:

Anil K. Jain (electrical engineer, born 1946) (1946–1988), Indian-American electrical engineer and Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Davis, researcher of digital image processing, image and video compression algorithms, and analysis of random fields
Anil K. Jain (computer scientist, born 1948), Indian-American computer scientist and University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, researcher of pattern recognition, computer vision, biometrics, and analysis of random fields

Note: Although one professor was nominally an electrical engineer and the other is a computer scientist, they have had somewhat overlapping areas of research. Both have worked on image processing and random fields, and both held the distinction of Fellow of the IEEE, while one is better known for compression technology and the other for pattern recognition.
