Anna Carlgren

Anna Carlgren (pronounced ['ana 'ka:lgre:n]) is a Swedish artist who works with glass.[1] She studied Chinese calligraphy, and attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in the 1980s. She is one of the founders of the Glasakademin in Sweden, were she has been its acting President for six years (2000–2015) and is currently head of the Glasakademin's Commission for Knowledge of Transfer.

Career

Anna Carlgren's first solo-exhibition was presented in the Glass Museum in Växjö Sweden. Her main focus is transparency and optical phenomena in glass. She writes and lectures on this subject whilst exhibiting her work in museums and galleries all over the world. The Jaroslava Brychtova's Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová private collection; the Harvey Littleton Collection; the collection of se:Ulla Forsell;[2] and Annelies van der Vorm among others.[3]
