Annaly Capital Management is one of the world's largest mortgage Real Estate Investment Trusts.[4] In 2013, it was the sixth fastest-growing company in the Fortune 1000.[5]
History
Annaly Capital Management was founded in 1997 by Michael A.J. Farrell, after 26 years on Wall Street working for various financial firms including E.F. Hutton & Co., Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. The company having grown exponentially under his leadership, he remained Chairman of the corporation until his death in 2012.[4]
