Annie Johnson (brewer)
Annie Johnson is an award-winning brewer who won the American Homebrewers Associations' Homebrewer of the Year award in 2013, becoming the first woman in twenty years, and the first African American person ever to ever win the award. In 2012, she won Pilsner Urquell's Master Homebrewer Competition, where head brewmaster Vaclav Berka said that it was the best beer that he ever tasted. Following these awards, the tried to work in breweries, but eventually found work with a company that manufactures homebrewing equipment. In addition to that work, she is a judge for the Beer Judge Certification Program, and proctors certification exams.[1][2][3]
