Annisa Larasati Pohan (born 20 November 1981),[1] is an Indonesian model, presenter, former radio announcer and socialite. She is married to the first son of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono former president of Indonesia, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, in 2005. In 2008, the first daughter of Pohan and Yudhoyono, Almira Tunggadewi Yudhoyono was born on 17 August, the same day as the Indonesian Independence day. Almira is the first grandchild of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his wife, Kristiani Herrawati.

Early life

Annisa Larasati Pohan was born in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. She is the second child out of three and the only daughter of Aulia Pohan from North Sumatra and Mulyaningsih, an East Javanese. Her father was a former Deputy Governor of Bank of Indonesia. She followed her father's duty to Tokyo, Japan for several years. She lived in Jakarta from elementary school to high school (SMA Negeri 70 Bulungan). She holds an economics degree from Padjadjaran University, Bandung and a master Management degree from University of Indonesia.

Career

In 1997, when she was fifteen years old, Pohan participated in a teenage model search which was very popular in lifting up names of a lot of girls, making them top Indonesian actresses and models, called Gadis Sampul, in which she came as the second runner up. Since then she kept on pursuing her entertainment career and she did various kinds of work. She was a former radio announcer in one of the most popular radio stations in Bandung, Oz Radio . She also became the presenter of various TV programs such as Sport RCTI , Bundesliga, La Liga, Celebrity Jam, Good Morning on the Weekend, as well as other TV programs.

Tunggadewi Foundation

Pohan is the founder of Tunggadewi Foundation, which is a concern for women and children. This was founded in 2009 by Pohan and her friends and has successfully developed informal learning centers free of charge to children and their mother, including Rumah Pintar (Smart House) and Jendela Dunia (Window on the World). The Tunggadewi Foundation began when a group of Indonesian women who were concerned about the socioeconomic problems arising in the underprivileged community, such as the high levels of dropout resulting from poverty, the low level of student participation in educational institutions, underage child labors, unhealthy living environment for child development, as well as high mother and infant death rate. These problems not only government tasks, but also our responsibilities together for nation's future; therefore, participation and support from people at large is needed. These and other factors combined to cause us to roll up our sleeves and apply ourselves to try to relieve these underprivileged people of their burdens by establishing the Tunggadewi Foundation in 2009 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The name Tunggadewi was taken from a queen who reigned during the period of the Majapahit Kingdom and was known for the way in which her wisdom and justice brought prosperity and well being to her people. In choosing this name it is hoped that the Tunggadewi Foundation will be able to become a social organization capable of bringing well being to the people on a wide scale by focusing on empowering women and enhancing children's wellbeing. Personal life

Pohan first met Agus Yudhoyono, her husband, when she was still working as a radio announcer in Oz Radio, Bandung. They were introduced by fellow announcer friend, Aditya Djanaka. Since then, the relationship between Pohan and Yudhoyono became closer.[3]

After their long period of relationship, they got married on 8th of July 2005. The reception was held in Bogor Palace, one of 6 Presidential Palaces of Indonesia, located in Bogor, West Java.

They are blessed with one daughter, Almira Tunggadewi Yudhoyono, who was born on the same day as the 63rd independence day of Indonesia.

In 2009, Pohan followed her husband and moved to the United States where her husband took Master of Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, Massachusetts, US, and Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. In 2011 Pohan and her family came back to Indonesia.
