Anthony Beauvillier (born June 8, 1997) is a Canadian ice hockey player. He is currently plays for and is the captain of the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL. Beauvillier was drafted by the New York Islanders with the 28th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.[1]

Playing career

Beauvillier was drafted by the Shawinigan Cataractes in the 1st round (2nd overall) of the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft,[2] and he played 64 games with the Cataractes during the 2013–14 QMJHL season. The following season his outstanding play was rewarded when he was selected to play in the 2015 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, where he lead Team Cherry as captain.[3] He was also named to the 2014–15 QMJHL Second All-Star Team.[4]

International

Beauvillier competed with the Canada Quebec team at the 2014 World U-17 Hockey Challenge. He helped Canada men's national under-18 ice hockey team win gold at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, and bronze at the 2015 IIHF World U18 Championships.[5]

On December 1st, 2015, Beauvillier was invited to the Team Canada selection camp for the 2016 World Junior Hockey Championships.[6]
